In early 2023, I started a personal challenge to do things that terrified me. One Saturday morning in February, I took a bag of headphones down to Bondi Beach and danced with 5 friends. No speakers, no venue, no permission needed. Just headphones and a playlist.
Strangers stopped to watch. Then they asked to join in. Something about seeing people dance in silence - then putting on the headphones and suddenly being inside this incredible shared musical experience - was magnetic.
Four months later, I set up a silent disco by myself outside the Sydney Opera House. Within an hour, there was a line of people waiting to use the headphones. People were offering to pay me.
That was the moment I realised this wasn't just a fun experiment. This was something people genuinely wanted.
I spent the rest of 2023 travelling through Southeast Asia, starting sunset silent discos on beaches and funding my travels through the donations I received. Every event taught me what worked and what didn't - which headphones held up in sand and humidity, which frequencies sounded best outdoors, how to create that moment where someone takes off their headphones, hears silence, laughs, and puts them straight back on.
In February 2024, I moved to Bali and started the island's first silent disco rental company with 50 headphones. Within a year, we'd grown to over 750 headphones, hosted 200+ events, and become the go-to supplier for organisations like Amazon, IBM, EPSON, iconic beach clubs like Sunday's Beach Club, and Bali's biggest event brands.
Today, I sell the exact same headphones I use at every single event. I wouldn't put my name on anything I don't stake my own reputation on. Every headphone model has been tested in real breathwork sessions, ecstatic dances, beach parties, corporate team events, and Balinese ceremonies.
